2026 New Prairie Athletic League

NPAL Baseball/Softball Divisions 2026

**New this year tee ball will be split into 1st & 2nd year divisions. Due to this change not all coach/teammate requests will be granted**

TEE BALL: Age 4-5 (Co-Ed) - 1st Year Players

A fun introduction to the game! Players learn how to hit off a tee, throw, catch, run bases, and work as a team. Focus is on learning the basics, building confidence, and having fun.

ROOKIE: 5-6 (Co-Ed) - 2nd Year Players

An opportunity to build on the basic skills learned in 1st year tee ball. Players hit from a tee or coach pitch and begin learning positions, outs, and simple game rules. Emphasis on improved throwing, catching, batting, and teamwork.

MACHINE PITCH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Age 6-8

Fast-paced and exciting! Players hit from a pitching machine and continue developing fielding skills, base running, and game awareness. Players should be able to catch, throw with control, and understand basic rules.

MINORS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Age 8-10

Player pitching begins! This level focuses on pitching, hitting live pitches, defensive positioning, and situational play. Players are expected to have solid fundamentals and growing confidence in all areas of the game.

MAJORS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Age 10-12

Competitive play for experienced athletes. Players refine advanced hitting, pitching, fielding, and game strategy. Strong fundamentals, focus, and teamwork are expected as players prepare for the next level.

JUNIORS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Age 13-16

High-energy, competitive baseball/softball. Players work on advanced skills, game strategy, and leadership while preparing for high school or upper-level play. Consistent performance, commitment, and sportsmanship are expected.

SENIORS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Age 17-18

A competitive division focused on advanced skill development, game strategy, and preparing players for high school–level or upper-level play, with an emphasis on commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Tryout dates for Majors, Juniors & Seniors age divisions are TBD.

All Stars Age Divisions (tryouts to be held in May)
